Hello thread, long time no see!
Can't wait till Tuesday (potentially)...
Monday. Murray is unseeded - he could potentially be teatime on Monday (according to the Euro 2020 thread anyway)

BBC news at six on Tuesday is currently scheduled for 4pm with regional at 4.20 but that could move forward by half hour which is likely if BBC want to have 1 hour bulid up to the England match.

It is a possibility depending on who he draws in R1 because if he draws Djokovic, their clash will definitely be mid Monday afternoon as Djokovic is confirmed as first match on Centre Court from 1:30pm.
Should Murray avoid Djokovic but was to draw Federer in R1 and they end up in same half as Djokovic, you have to seriously imagine that BBC will likely push for that match to be third on Centre Court as could easily be the last Wimbledon match for either player and would likely be tempting to air on BBC1.

It is certainly possible in extraordinary circ*mstances and is pretty easily as just need to logically drop the 'at Six' part from the title then there is no issue.

It's only the 'News at Six' because of iPlayer. Generic 'BBC News' bulletins don't go up on iPlayer but the other branded ones do. I think keeping it called the News at Six lets the system automatically upload it after it airs as opposed to breaking news events where they have to tell it to become available afterwards.

It's also possibly so that viewers know that it's the Six bulletin on earlier rather than put it on as a generic news bulletin and viewers thinking the Six has been dropped altogether.

That's just daft now, they should cut short some of the lengthy build up and slot a news bulletin in somewhere there.

Saturday has always Traditionally meant Sport on the BBC, has the Eastbourne Final always been scheduled for what I’m guessing is a 12.30 start

There would be ample time to fit in a news bulletin between 7 and 8 when the next match starts-it really should be slotted in then even if it's just a short round-up nationally and locally otherwise it devalues the whole thing of having the news at all on the channel-far too much time is spent on post mortems and build-up -fine on a specialist sports channel but not BBC1.

This is BBC1 where we're always happy to cancel your normal programmes to simulcast the news channel when it suits us but are happy to cancel even the regular news on the channel when there's sport to show instead.

Same as today with Newsnight being on at 7pm…..7pm isn’t night, but “Newsevening” doesn’t have the right ring to it somehow….

So Newsnight is moved to 7pm to accommodate repeats of Glastonbury.

Well aren't you grateful that most now have to pay for live sport and not be bothered by such changes. Football tournaments such as the Euros and World Cup come round every two years, yes Wimbledon every year but only for a fortnight. Maybe some of us are grateful that some live sport still exists. Probably the 20 million who tuned into the England Scotland game would wish to ignore your comment.

I'm only asking for a short bulletin including regional news in the 7-8 slot between the matches,I think I'm entitled to ask for that instead of a review of the match just gone and the one coming up,We don't all like sport.News is either important to BBC1 or it isn't.

There might well be if the tie doesn’t go to Extra time.

We have a 24 hour News Channel, a comprehensive local radio network together with a comprehensive website covering local and regional news. Something the BBC does exceptionally well. It does surprise me that many struggle to look at an alternative to the news on BBC 1 when the BBC provide so much in depth coverage across the nation through TV, Radio and their website.

Sorry,we'll have to agree to disagree.BBC local radio is rubbish these days and not everyone is able to access the websites. They should have enabled regional programmes to be shown on the news channel or somewhere else other than BBC1.Ten minutes in the middle of the afternoon is no substitute.

Perhaps because sport - like the news - is, you know, live 🙄🤦♂️
