Over the weekend, Kevin Byrd, Richard Cowans, Will Kaczmarek, Joshua L., James Dan O'Conner, Rothanak So and I hosted a #MLHLocalhost - specifically the Capital One Basic TrAIning Python workshops. We went from 12-5 pm, ran through 10 boxes of donuts, 15 boxes of pizza, and at least two boxes of soda (which, went stacked on top of each other, ended up being taller than me) and at its peak, there were 72 people in a room only built for 88. I am so excited to be working with Major League Hacking with their localhost program (and eventually a hackathon!). I am also eternally grateful to the UNF School of Computing for its incredibly supportive faculty and the growth as a person and leader I have been able to do while here, and the friends it has led me to.Kevin introduced everyone to Python (most people for the first time), Roth walked them through web scraping on Twitter, and Will and Lucas walked people through the Markovify AI library to build a chatbot based on the previously scraped tweets. Dan, Richard, and William Harding, along with everyone who presented, walked around and helped people squash bugs. Pictures were taken by Will (it was a little weird not taking the pictures this time!). #python #ai #happyhacking indeed

I’m happy to share that after over a year of unemployment, I’ve started a new position as Associate Solutions Consultant at Fluxx! Rest assured I'll be waxing poetic about this at a later date, but right now I am just eternally grateful to the team at Fluxx who were on the hiring process, and especially Suni Sidhu, Nadia Alia, and Tracie Mooneyham who helped me keep seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and generally stay sane. I'm so grateful to still be working in #philanthropytech and hope to for a long time.
